Celebrating 80 Years of Business at Zorn’s of Bethpage
 
Bethpage, NY - Bethpage Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce that it will hold a Ribbon
Cutting ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Zorn’s of Bethpage, located at 4321 Hempstead Tpke, Bethpage, at 12 Noon on Friday, October 9, 2020.
 
Zorn’s of Bethpage is our oldest operating family-owned business, serving Bethpage and the Long Island community for over 80 years. Prior to opening up to the public in 1940, the Zorn family owned a poultry farm in the same location where the new store stands today. The farm included many more acres back then, including what is now the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway. Their history goes way back, and to honor the many contributions to Long Island the Bethpage Historical Society presented them with a NY State Historical Marker that will be unveiled at the event.   Along with the historical marker, Merrill Zorn will be receiving the NY State Empire Award – for the dedication to the growth and betterment of the community.
 
Merrill’s grandfather, Peter Zorn, was one of the largest growers of eggs, chickens, and turkeys on Long Island. He was the first to offer rotisserie chickens cooked over an open flame and was indeed a pioneer in retail take-out food! Eight decades later, Zorn’s of Bethpage continues to use original family recipes. Their food is prepared with the same quality and pride that it was 80 years ago, without preservatives or anything artificial. Award-winning Skinless Southern Fried Chicken is a customer favorite, along with their famous ribs, juicy rotisserie chicken, and made-from-scratch sides! Many traditions include Zorn’s of Bethpage catered meals; from their plentiful Turkey Feast and Elegant dining packages to Backyard Picnics and Signature Displays. 
 
Zorn’s of Bethpage is still family-owned and operated and led by Merrill Zorn. She loves her community and is proud to be a part of a business that gives generously. She is dedicated to charities and local organizations and is an active member of multiple boards and business associations, including the Bethpage Chamber of Commerce.
